Part 1. How to Add hyperlink to PDF files on Windows

Step 1. Download and install the PDFelement

The PDFelement is a professional editor for PDF files. It is widely welcomed all around the world, for its great compatibility with both the Windows and the Mac. For a Windows user, you can choose the PDFelement for Windows, which supports Windows 10 and 8.

Step 2. Open the PDF files

Double-click the shortcut for the PDFelement on the desktop. Then tap on the “File” to open the PDF file which you want to add hyperlink to.

Step 3. Add the hyperlink to the PDF file

Tap on the “Edit” option on the toolbar and then click on “Link”. Use your mouse to choose the area on the PDF file where you want to add hyperlink to. Then there will be a window popping up, on which you can input the hyperlink of a website or something other. Then click on “Set Link”.

Step 4. Edit the hyperlink

There are two ways of editing the hyperlink, including double-clicking and then editing directly, and another being right-clicking and then choosing to “Edit Link”.


Part 2. How to Add hyperlink to PDF files on Mac

Step 1.Download and install the PDFelement for Mac

If you have a Mac computer, you can choose the PDFelement for Mac, which is a little different with the PDFelement for Windows. Let's see the difference in the following passages.

Step 2. Open the PDF files

Double-click the start icon of the PDFelement for Mac. Then open the PDF file via the option on the toolbar.

Step 3. Add the hyperlink to the PDF file

Now, on the tool panel on the right of the Window, under the “Edit” menu you need to find the option saying “Close Add or Edit Link”. Then on the dialog box, input the URL of a website or another PDF file.

Step 4. Edit the hyperlink

To edit the hyperlink, you can do as we talked on Part 1, which is almost the same between the operation on both Windows and Mac. After you finish all the edit, you need to enable the hyperlink you have just added, by exiting the edit mode.
